$3.32 lb live in South Arkansas 2 weeks ago. Plan to do some this weekend but haven't called yet to check.

I got a nice sack from Schaeffer's in Bucktown last Sunday and they were pond crawfish for $3.25 a lb. if paying cash and $3.50 if using plastic.

Good size crawfish and I only found 8 dead in the sack when I washed them prior to boiling.

The local Rouses is advertising $2.99 a lb. by the sack but I have no clue how they look.

I usually agree but I actually found they are missing a fair number of good spots. I found my new spot through TD.

$3.00 has been the cheapest retail I've seen around Monroe.

Live from Rouses on Freret were trash when I got them during Mardi Gras. Not sure how the others are. Winn Dixie on Tchoup actually had great ones for $2.99/lb.

I don’t have good luck with the crawfish app. Seems like a good idea several years ago but it’s not very comprehensive.

It’s the Waze of crawfish; only as good as the input and most of that seems to have to originate from the dealers. Maybe they should do some of the footwork themselves and make the necessary phone calls to ask about prices and update the app themselves. There are some retailers on the app that haven’t updated in over 3 weeks.

Rouses boiled crawfish are surprisingly good and are fresh boiled, hot out the pot

I believe this depends on location and who is doing the boiling or prep work. The Rouses boiled crawfish in Youngsville are horrible. I've had them about 4-5 times trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Dirty crawfish and they often have weeds and pond vegetation boiled in with the crawfish. They're seasoned but have very little spicy flavor or "kick" to them. I'm sure other locations are better and probably take the time to clean the crawfish. I believe Youngsville just dumps the sack into their boiling set up and adds minimal seasoning.

Good point.

I’ve gotten them twice at the Metairie location.
Really good.

And my go to is Dennis in Metairie. (I think the best flavored in New Orleans area)

Where exactly? Beats most N.O. prices by $1 a lb. and if close enough, worth the drive.

$2.99 from Rouses last Saturday, and they were good size, and very few dead ones.
