my go to is Dennis in Metairie.

Grew up and lived in Metry for 18+ years as this was our go to place. Even today, when wanting to eat boiled crawfish 4-5 times per year, my 77-year-old father still buys from Dennis'. Their seafood is legit with great flavor !

Thanks for the feedback and for using The Crawfish App. Our call team contacts about 750 vendors every Thursday and the other 850+ vendors update their own prices through portals to give them more control of their price. We expect vendors to honor the prices they post on the App. Please email us with any issues that you have there.

We had a call with many vendors today about old prices and most of them stated that their prices have been flat for almost 3 weeks. Hopefully they start moving down soon.

If there are any new places that should be added, please ask them to contact us. We are always happy to add new vendors.

And many others.

Dennis’ just has a unique flavor that I like

Bumping this. Last time I bought Rouses, they were so trash I vowed not to go back. Was on Good Friday, so prime time for good size. They were super small and many dead. They were clearly picked over and the anti-"select" batch.

Favorite place used to be My Crazy Uncle, but closed now.

Looking for a new place in NOLA Area that's decent price and not Rouses.

$2.75/lb at Farmers Meat Market in BR. I’ve gotten them there several times this year and the last few times they were huge

The problem is Rouses. Their crawfish are not good.

A bit more per lb., but Schaeffer's in Bucktown has nice sacks of crawfish and that is my go-to place.

I got a sack last Sunday that were mostly large size crawfish with less than 10 dead in the sack.

Rouses by me was $2.99 a lb. and Schaeffer's was $3.25 a lb. if paying cash or $3.50 if using plastic.

Thanks for the reply and I apologize for assuming that you weren't proactive in seeking out current prices since many updates are almost a month old. (As of today, 4/12/22 there are vendors in the NOLA area whose last updates were 3/15/22.)
I understand that the prices may not change for periods of time but it's hard to tell if the prices are 'up to date' if the date is a month old. Maybe change the word "update" on the app to 'current'? dunno

With Easter Sunday coming up, you can expect an uptick in prices and then a drop if things go like they normally do.

Then they usually uptick again for Mother's Day, then drop heading into the summer months.

Nah, the price doesnt change as demand is lower and supply is increasing prior. It changes immediately after as supply is damn near the same and demand is still really high.

Thanks for the insight, we are constantly evolving to make our product better for the users. We actually added the updated date to incentivize vendors to be proactive in updating their prices. People are more likely to shop were the prices are most recent. We are still working to educate them on re-saving the price even when the price is unchanged so that users don’t think the price is old.

We are looking at ways to incorporate user feedback on pricing as well.
