Like many restaurants, Cracker Barrel is slowly reopening its dining rooms as many states begin to lift social distancing measures, and though they expect sales to be a bit unpredictable for a while, they plan to combat that by launching a beer and wine program along with new menu items.

A report from Nation's Restaurant News said the chain is expecting sales to be "choppy" for awhile and CEO Sandra B. Cochran told investors that "everyone is having trouble predicting what’s going to happen" as restaurants re-open.

"The past several months have presented unprecedented challenges for Cracker Barrel, the industry and our country,” Cochran said in a statement to the publication: “I believe our strategic priorities, such as accelerating our off-premise business, combined with the rapid actions we took to bolster liquidity, strengthen our business model and adapt our operations to the circumstances have positioned us well for the recovery period to come.”

When I first got out of college I worked for a tiny arse little business and the owner and a few of the prick greedy sales reps were hardcore non denominational types. No matter what there was never to be alcohol at any dinner, etc.

But he took it further and asked us to have our stupid little once a quarter meeting as a department at Shoneys because they didn't sell alcohol. He wanted any company business done at places that didn’t serve alcohol

Friend,

Scratch that restaurant off my list of places to try. The Teetotaling South of my hopes is crumbling.

My first job out of college was on a rig near Conway, AR. Finished the well in approximately in two weeks and went to the local Chili’s to get bombed on BOGO domestics and margs.

It was a dry county. I was crushed.

So we drove 30 miles to the nearest liquor store and then drove back and got hammered in the woods next to the rig

Unless you wear bib overalls, never eat at a place decorated with farm implements.

For those looking for the meat of the article:

That said, Cracker Barrel seems to have a plan to bring people in by accelerating a beer and wine program that it had tested prior to the pandemic. It's currently in 20 locations and, yes, mimosas are being offered. There are two flavors—orange and strawberry—and they're apparently super popular.

Easy way to make bank without any real work involved. Glasses of wine in most restaurants go for $10 and up and beers usually start around $5.

Big profit for little work involved.

Took a trip to France and put together a photo book, back when we printed photos. Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Monet's garden, Versailles, Normandy cemetery, the Louvre, etc.

The pic that got the most comments--by far--was me drinking a beer in McDonald's.
