Why not a hamburger and hot dog place?

We've had one of these places for decades. It's called "Bud's Broiler." One is still open in Covington.

Everybody loves a good hotdog, including me. But I damn sure ain't paying crazy prices for one. Was craving a good chili dog about a year ago so I decided to stop at Sonic and try one of their footlongs. Noticed the price...over 6 dollars...for a hotdog. No thanks. It's too cheap and easy to make really good ones at home.

The big trends right now are soup, egg rolls, and birra tacos.

The best hot dog in BR (RIP Frankie's) is the spicy Cajun Dog at Bull Chicks.

Portillo’s is a growing chain.

Just went public late last year. I want to say their initial target is 500 restaurants nationwide over the next few years.

Has me worried, though. Growing up in Chicagoland, I ate there when Dick Portillo owned the chain. In 2014, they sold to an investment firm and the quality, imo, suffered. Now they're going public so there's no telling where the quality will end up. Which is a goddamned shame because Portillo's was an outstanding fast food joint.

I liked Frankie's well enough for a lunch spot. Tator tots FTW. Was actually probably going to hit them up in the next few days. Bummer.

One of the best specialty dogs I’ve had was at this chain: Doghaus .

Sure they cast a wide net with awesome burgers and beer, but the dog caught my attention. Never had a better one. I’m a repeat customer.

Numerous locations in Texas and more coming.

I’ve tried most of the big names and I’ll put Kirkland beef hotdogs up against any of them for flavor.

I have to disagree. Not dogs I feel like you can do more with especially at Dat Dog.

Doghaus .
the original location opened up my last year or two in california like a 10 mins from my place. went a couple times and it was good. totally forgot about it until i was watching a food show a couple years ago and they went there. i looked it up to see how it was doing. apparently its a legit chain with a bunch of places now

cool to see a success story like that
