Putting together our registry and trying to decide on a new set of pots and pans. We are using our sets from college and are excited for a new nice set. What do y’all recommend for every day cooking?

Calphalon 11 PIece Set

Got this one when we got married. We have added a few pieces here and there but can't go wrong. Easy to clean, holds up great

All clad is the gold standard and my pots/pans of choice. But if you're looking for something more economical, I've heard very good things about Tramontina. Tramontina Set

Can confirm. I got the Tramontina for Christmas and love it. It is basically the less expensive version of All-Clad and some cooking sites actually rate it higher than them.

All Clad is top notch but also the most expensive. Have a couple Tramontina pots and have been very pleased with how they perform at a much cheaper price.

A few months back I ordered a few Hexclad pots and last week basically completed the collection with the three pans and a wok with lids. This cookware is amazing and they look great too. Check out their website.

Le Crueset. Wedding is best time to start accumulating good shite. That’s what we did and we were surprised how many LC pieces we got. Have added a few here and there over the years and couldn’t be happier. Don’t put junk on your registry, go all out baw.

Sets look nice and all but, knowing what I know now, I would get pieces that I know I would use.

I had a 14", 5.5 quart sautoir that I used maybe 20 times in 10 years since receiving it as part of a 13 piece set.

I'd have preferred,

An enameled cast iron 7qt Dutch oven & 5qt braiser, both with lids.

One each 12" & 8" carbon steel satuee pans.

Lidded 8qt, 4qt, & 2qt stainless steel clad-bottom sauce pots.

A 10" cast iron skillet & a 14" nonstick aluminum frying pan

That's what I use now for everyday cooking.

I’ve found that a mixture of different brands is a better fit. I’ve got All Clad sautés, sauce, and a “pot” for lack of a better word but use my ScanPan and cast iron skillet more than anything. The All Clads are nice and I do use them but probably not as often as the price they fetch is worth.

I think a Le Creucet or Staub 5.5 to 7.25 qt deep Dutch oven is a must have. I use a mix of cast iron and cheap aluminum but will eventually upgrade to Le Creucet

Also a quality chef or Santoku and paring knife will get used daily.

A nice soft cutting board, garlic press, zester, and citrus juicer are great.

Demeyere is objectively superior to all-clad in every way. Give it a look.

Fissler Original Profi and Paderno Grand Gourmet are fantastic. The fissler is dishwasher safe.

Falk makes great copper bi-metal at reasonable prices.

wolfman.

check out Vollrath. Its more of a commercial line of cookware but they make higher end lines that I will put up against All-clad, calphalon, etc any day of the week for a fraction of the cost. very heavy bottomed and heat evenly.

I promise you will not be disappointed.

Optio is the line I wish I would have bought. got the intrigue line instead which is their top of the line. a buddy got the Optio and they are great. I like the look of them better as well.

So I need a set of new frying pans. At least a 10 and 12 inch. I had TFal nonstick they lasted about 5 years.

So which non stick fry pans? Should I get Calphalon? Is Tramontina as good?
