I'd love to try it. I'm old but love new concepts.
Yes, a lot of my friends, especially older ones, don't want anything different then they had as kids, they are the same ones with an @aol.com email address.

No one can show us the way. La. is ranked dang near last on every list. Being stuck in our ways is who we are as a state. If it ain't like the way daddy or maw maw cooked then it's wrong. But that mentally stagnant attitude does make our food special and unique to the outside world, hence the appeal.
What a weird thread to make this stand. The thread is literally about someone trying something different and loving it.

Roy Choi from the Chef show is much more likable, and he and John fabro play off of each other really well. Plus they let the other chefs be the star of the show

I do fricking love CYP. Their baos are dynamite. I guess I need to try their crawfish.

Ordered their crawfish last night tossed in lemongrass garlic butter. Came with potatoes, corn, mushrooms, boiled quail eggs, and edamame.
shite like this ought to be illegal. Especially in Louisiana. Pawpaw warmed me when we started seeing all the damn Chinese “food” places popping up everywhere that it was only a matter of time before they came for our crawfish. That “lemon grass” has another name. It’s called Covid 19. I’m so sick of Liberals and their bullshite infiltrating every nook and cranny of our society, from genetically mutating our tomatoes to trying to make multicultural boudin. And frick David Chang and the queer horse he rode in on.

Thinking about ordering some this weekend. How many lbs. do you get for $25?

I am often blown away by the lack of desire of people to try anything new or different, particularly in the cajun and redneck areas of La.
I think the bigger problem is that some people promoting it, such as David Chang on Netflix, shite on the way people in Louisiana do it, and it put people on the defensive.
Also I jsut never buy crawfish at a restaurant
overpriced and I don't like being that messy in public.

We got these yesterday and while they were good we all (5 of us) said we wouldn’t be getting them again and would prefer old fashioned crawfish. I felt they were too small and there wasn’t a consistent cook on them. The flavor was neat, the crawfish still tasted like a normal crawfish but with all the stuff on the outside it gets on your fingers and you get a lot of garlic and a little lemongrass. It tasted like they mixed in some Tom Yum mix to us. Anyway, it was interesting and I’m glad we tried it but it wasn’t a homerun and we will be back to On The Geaux next time.

they told me it was 5 lbs... is that accurate? Was planning on ordering some later today.

Got them again Friday and they were bomb
Also tried the crispy fish curry and it was delicious. One of the best dishes I’ve had recently in Baton Rouge.

I think it’s around 4 pounds and then all the sides. The two times I’ve gotten it the crawfish have all been premium quality.

It’s so good!
I got the crawfish yesterday. I had won a contest to get $50 worth. When I tried to give the gift card, they insisted i take it all on the house and use the $50 another day.
I already love the place, but that was totally unnecessary. Will be sure to go back and take extra care of them.
Crawfish was great!
