It was close to 5lbs of crawfish. Maybe 4 like someone else said. The only other thing of weight in the bag are potatoes and corn and my sack had 2 small potatoes and 1 piece of corn. So that wasn’t a lot of weight coming from anything else. Again, my big gripe were the size of the crawfish. Someone else said they were always premium but on the day we went they certainly were not. If the crawfish are so small that I can’t or won’t bother with the claws then it’s just not worth it to me.

Mine weren’t small at all.

In fact, probably 80% had claws you could get the meat out of.

That's been my experience as well the both times I have ordered them.

Ordered 5 lbs of the viet kind and 5 lbs of regular. No way in hell was it close to 10 pounds of crawfish. No potatoes either. Pretty disappointing. Will not be ordering again, but definitely hitting up GOTG soon, they have never done me wrong.

yeah, that's why I asked - some others told me that it's about 3-3.5 lbs. of crawfish plus the extras (edamame, eggs, potatoes, corn)

The IG says it is 4# plus sides. I didn't weigh mine, but it certainly seemed about right.

This. I grew up with a lot of people like this. Fastfood was a treat consumed no more than once or twice per week. A meal out in a restaurant might happen once in a month, twice at the most. It’s hard to justify that money going towards a risk when you almost never can afford a meal like that. Those people stick to solid safe menu items, and I don’t blame them. My father is like that. I know that when he goes to a seafood restaurant he’s either getting the fried oysters, fried catfish, fried oysters AND fried catfish, or crawfish etoufee. My oldest brother is getting fried shrimp and/or a cup of gumbo. My other brother is getting something au gratin and maybe some fried crawfish tails.

Not everyone can afford to order another meal if they don’t like what they get, and not everyone can afford a meal out more than once in a blue moon. So, they stick to what they know they’ll like. I’ve always been a risk taker, but I’m definitely more conservative when I’m paying. I am definitely more skittish to try new restaurants when I’m only buying for me.

You just described my growing up experience. Hymel's in Convent was our go to place and to this day I can tell you what each family member was going to order.

Just finished my bucket and it was delicious. Crawfish were generally medium-sized, with a few smaller ones. Quite a few had claws large enough to get meat from. However, they were definitely not "select." There were 3 potatoes, 5 quail eggs, 1 corn, and a bunch of edamame in my batch. I'd guesstimate it to be about 4 lbs. They weren't the biggest crawfish, and they weren't the easiest to peel, but the flavor was excellent. I'd order again.
