Jesus Christ this thread sucks. Should have put a /thread on my post because that was about all that mattered.
to the people slamming Chimes and Chimes east tap selections.
These days they are easily my favorite places to drink beer. Maven level, Full on Snobbery Beer.
CBD is pretty good too I just don't go to bars all that often.

Look like i said, the chimes is great for the simpletons of baton rouge but their tap selection really isnt anything to write home about. For a city of its size, i would think baton rouge would have a taphouse with more variety not just "around the world - guiness, newcastle, becks, etc"

Same here. These guys have obviously not been to the Chimes in the last 2 years. The Chimes guys will admit that they were asleep at the wheel with all those European lagers and such, but that is certainly not the case anymore.

I stop in at taprooms all the time. I usually have just one, and I often know before I get there what I'm going to have (because my go to places all have up-to-date beer menus online).
CBD sounds like my kind of place. Stop in to get a beer and shoot the shite for a bit. In and out in 15-20 minutes.
Of course, I won't drive 30 minutes out of my way for a 15 minute beer. It needs to be relatively convenient...

I just looked at the Chimes East Beer Menu. Very nice. I checked to see what places in Portland use it. None of the places I go to use it. Hmmmm. Maybe we're behind the times...

I don't have a problem with it. I usually go to beermenus anyway to determine where I want to go

Yeah, I wonder where they're used more prominently? Don't remember if it was that widely used in Denver area or not but you'd think it would have originated from one of the beer hubs.

You sure seem to think that Chimes should have some magical power that gets them beer that nowhere else in the city can get. Are you not considering distribution laws?
They get the best that they can as far as what is distributed in BR.
I never understand why people think that bars can go behind distribution laws and get anything they want.
