Do you really think people are lying about this? Maybe you're the idiot.

I went last week and got a paper menu.

You must be really terrible at communication if you can't do the same.

To be fair, while I don't think it is a huge cost either way, they are probably printing a lot more than y'all.

There are probably 75 tables in that place, at least. And then the bartenders probably keep copies.

Overall, my opinion is.. I like having a menu in hand when I'm sitting down for dinner. But it isn't bad enough for me to bitch.

As you well know, I've been a pretty frequent patron of your bosses bars since Port Royal was one of my early forays into craft beer, but your boss has struggled to keep paper menus current over the years, even with bourbon, which clearly doesn't turn over as quickly as beer.

And I'm sorry for the clueless few that can't pull up beermenus on their flip phones. Even my 88 year old Dad could manage that task that seems so Herculean to some posters in this thread, even the self anointed restaurant idiot savant. Just order a Bud Heavy and the rest of us will enjoy our flights of the freshly tapped stuff.

Cove is different.

Im referring to CBD.

We don't do it at Cove because the binding costs and what not. Essentially the specialty beers that we only get 1 case a year of, there's no point to putting on the menu. Like Bruery beers, or seasonal releases. My bartenders sell those without the use of a menu. And we use flyers like crazy. We also have 3,200 different items. Do you really want a menu for the grappas? We have one.. lol

Different here *at CBD* with 102 taps, list is super up to date all the time. [EDIT]

who really cares? chimes east hasn't a real beer selection to begin with.
no size selection.
nothing new.
nothing updated.
chimes lsu hasn't updated inventory since...like...when?
people like chimes for food...why...
beer is secondary.

And the food ain't much to speak of either.

I don't need a menu, paper or digital to request a Bombay Safire Gin with a whiff of vermouth, two olive martini. Now I just have to use my smartass phone for Über to get me home.

someone clearly doesn't go to chimes

They have a very good selection. I've gone to chimes specifically to try beers that no one else had several times in the past year.

Maybe you're thinking of chimes 5 years ago before the revamped?

Maybe for a beginner beer connoisseur. I remember my first time at chimes in college, i did the around the world. Nowadays there are too many other good taphouses to waste my money at that establishment

I'd love to find a way to get mine cheaper. I do them once a month and it isn't cheap. I'm using a heavy synthetic paper in an effort to have it withstand our volume. They can be wiped a bit but you'll get people using them as a place mat as well. If you guys are getting away with it on the cheap then I'm jealous. I'm currently working on doing something like World of Beers does with the ipads.

Oh i dont know about Baton Rouge

Didnt know it was possible for anyone that lives there to be a legit beer snob. The chimes is pretty meh. The bulldog is crap. Just a bunch of abita, nola brew and other local garbage on tap. The service is also cringe like one step down from happys. I mean they have macro brews on tap at the chimes and bulldog how can you tell me thats a taphouse with a straight face

Maybe you should look at their taplist sometime, if your flip phone gets the Interwebz. Otherwise, back to your regularly scheduled trolling.

I was talking about The Chimes. We can agree on the BR Bulldog taplist being a joke most of the time. The Chimes has been getting steadily better (all 3 locations) over the past couple of years, and the addition of CBD means its possible to go to a few places in BR and get a pretty good flight of beers.
