Troy Landry visited Chimes E. And decided to terminate the contract.

They said they no longer serve it when I tried to order. I asked the college kid server if it was a permanent change and he seemed to imply that that was his understanding.

That's a shame. Was one of the best things on the menu.

OG Chimes, East, or Lafayette?

They also got rid of the blackened shrimp nachos, which were incredible.

Server told me a few months back that they were having trouble sourcing enough to have it on the menu full time.

That was a classic Chimes app I think that was the first time I had blackened gator.

LOL.

What form of communication did he use to possibly suggest this implication?

Ironically this is exactly what I recommended in the other thread asking what's good.

Went something like…

me: “is it just a temporary thing or is it off the menu for good?”

waiter: “… probably the 2nd one”

End of conversation. He looked like he was over it so I didn’t bother for a manager’s clarification and ordered something else.

The got rid of the brownie sundae at some point in the spring. They've had that on the menu since I first came to LSU... a long time ago. There's no way they had issues sourcing that.

When I left Baton Rouge, I wanted to bookend with the meal I ate when I first moved there: a seafood platter, salad with ranch, coke, brownie sundae. There was no brownie sundae, the seafood platter no longer has crab fingers, stuffed shrimp, or oysters, you get like half the seafood you used to, and it's almost double the price. I was pretty disappointed.

I wouldn’t trust the word of one server but you never know. I worked in restaurants for many years and there’s a lot of idiots. But I’m also not sure why you’d take a well liked locally sourced product off the official menu at all so who knows.

I had it at Chimes Lafayette, yesterday. It was on the menu.

that's good to hear. The server probably didn't know what he was talking about in hindsight
