Can you leave a fully cooked smoked turkey out overnight or do you need to refrigerate it

Picked it up early due to thunderstorms tomorrow. I would think need to put in fridge but it was wasn’t cold at Mosleys.

i wouldn’t. set a timer, wake up, and put it in the fridge when it is room temperature. why risk it?

You would need to refrigerate it if u don't just smoke it overnight.

Thick piece of meat like that isn't gonna go bad overnight. Layers of protection assumming it's at least a 12lb or more size

Leave it out in the sun till Thanksgiving to properly age the meat. Should be good to go by end of the week.

Leave it outside if the temp is below 40.

Worse case is the neighborhood dogs get a free meal.

It has nothing to do with thickness. It’s temperature over time that causes bacteria to thrive. Warm temperatures are where bacteria do best. If anything the thickness would help retain temperature which would help bacteria grow.
