My thoughts exactly, especially considering the upcoming Aub game. The environment we experienced at USCe will be very similar to what we see in the Iron Bowl - tight game (hopefully not), rowdy crowd, picky officiating, all the pressure on us, etc. That win will give us even more confidence moving forward.

After the stretch of games we just went through, I expected a bit of a drop off in the SC game. Not because we were unmotivated given the circumstances or bright future ahead - but because we were tired, banged up after the last 4 tough games etc.

I thought we would win going into the game, but in an ugly way for the reasons mentioned above (ex. Tenn at Bama in 2009)

I thought we showed championship level grit to pull out the W the way we did, despite all the pressure in the world being on us.

I mean yeah, I would’ve liked to have won by 40, but that was a gutsy win in a tough environment, so I’m encouraged.


Side note - that stadium and environment is very very similar to what we will see at Aub. So at minimum that win was excellent mental prep for the last game of the season against little brother.

Let’s be honest, Richt was pretty successful. Won an SEC title, beat his rivals on a more than average basis, won a few big orange or sugar bowls, but never won or played for a national championship….he never reached the pinnacle of success - so I guess he was moderately successful?

I completely agree. Sure high flying offenses are fun to watch and provide plenty of excitement, however, there’s nothing more impressive than watching a tough-as-nails defense do its thing.

Hahahah this is far better than what I expected to read in this thread. Despite the 150+ yards of penalties and double-digit allowed sacks per game, it was definitely the officials fault lol

We booked a guide while there this past June. Absolutely smoked them. Plenty of fish to be caught and yall will catch your fill - no doubt in my mind.
