Burgers in Lafayette

I'm so sick of all these seasoned "meatloaf" sandwiches these places are making and telling us they're hamburgers.
Twins, Southside Bakery, La. Poboy, that place in the old Sonic on Moss St. They all suck!
Heard all kinds of praise for Morvants. Well just ate there and was very disappointed. Actually had a green bell pepper hanging out of the patty. Terrible.
Can I just get a nice beef patty cooked on a hot flat top without any obscene mix of seasonings thrown in it? Is that too much to ask?

Judice Inn and don't listen to the haters.
Regular, cheese w/ egg, grilled onions, or just extra sauce and extra cheese.

Judice Inn is my go to burger. Yeah they're small and ugly but to me they're still the best in town.

Fat Pat's is ok but I'm not a big fan of the sweet bun. Which seems to another local phenomenon.

I live in BR but get that Judice Burger every time I'm in the vicinity.

Haven't been back to Laffy since I lived there in the 70s and 80s, but I always like Ground Pat'i. Still there I think.

One of the worst burgers I've ever had--you can tell they've been frozen (same reason I hate Five Guys). I had the Filet Burger from the Burgersmith on Camellia the other night and was pleasantly surprised. This location is faarrr better than the one in BR (Been to the one in BR once--will never go back)
Edit:
Judice Inn is solid if you're in the mood for the greasy, grungy burger. Morvant's I thought was mediocre (had it a couple of month's ago--only once though). I've heard mixed reviews about Fat Pats.

Judice and Ground Pati are my two favorites.

The ground pati on Johnston is locally owned and has a different menu (and food suppliers) than the one on kaliste saloom which is corp. owned. The one on kaliste saloom is crap. IMO

Anybody remember Dale's out on N. University back in the day? Growing up we had that, Judice and Burger Chef.
