Ok, shite must really be getting real I saw this thread and went to check the ad at Robert (where we usually shop) and it says:

quote:

WEEKLY AD
At the moment there are no offers

I'm not seeing it anywhere either.

Sprouts:

quote:

The Butcher Shop Whole Bone-In Pork Shoulder Roast No Antibiotics Ever (Avg. 8.19lb)
$28.58 / ea ($3.49/lb)

I can't even find Boston Butt on a shelf at increased prices. Nothing will be on sale for a while

I might have seen it at Robert two days ago, but I could be wrong. It was next to a small beef roast that was $32, so I noped away very quickly.

I have a large portion of smoked and pulled Boston butt in my freezer right now, which I may need to ration now. Haha.

I went down the rabbit hole looking at random recipes on the Campbell's website made with condensed soup (I was feeling nostalgic, lol) and most of them were made with chicken. That's the only thing I'm seeing on sale anywhere, so we might just be embarking on a Campbell's condensed soup chicken recipe journey

In seriousness, we've been using the increased prices as an excuse to buy cheapy meats like thin cut pork chops or thin cut beef cuts and smothering them down to eat over rice. Comfort food.

Albertsons had them for $0.97/lb a few weeks ago. They'll be back soon enough.

I only have a couple butts left in my freezer after playing around with breakfast sausage. Peeked in at Alexander’s yesterday, $2.99/lb. It was $50 for a twin pack. Skipped right over than and thought about checking brisket prices, $6.29/lb and saw $5.99/lb for select at a small store by the house today. Guess I’ll be using up both of my freezer’s stash for the time being.

Have you checked Sam's yet? They usually have a decent stock of them

Sam's had them in stock yesterday. I didn't look at the prices. Meat prices are high and are looking to stay high for a while. Take advantage of sales when you can.

$1.73/lb which is great for non-sale price nowadays, sadly

I should have went to a couple Kroeger's and HEB stores while I was in Texas.

I bought a twin pack last weekend at Costco. I don't remember what I paid, but I bought it so it couldn't have been that bad.

Brisket prices are flat out ridiculous right now $6-7lb for choice.

No such sales in the N.O. area as far as I know. I get the Sadvocate and on Wed. they have the ads for store sales and yesterdays paper had nothing of the sort.

I'm betting in a few weeks the sales will be back once things get back to more normal standards since Ida.

Boston Butt in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train
When I's feelin' near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained
And rode us all the way into New Orleans

You know pulled pork was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
