Looking for somewhere new and exciting to go out to eat for my birthday Saturday. We always go to Gino's, Lagniappe, etc for special occasions but want to try somewhere new. Looking for the wise wisdom of the FDB for some recommendations

I went to Gouter for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was fantastic.

Has their bar selection gotten any better?

I don't know, they wouldn't let me drink (turned 20) and my dad brought wine from his own collection. I never looked at their beer selection either.

Don't know what "etc..." includes.

Nino's is my blind suggestion.

Gouter or Ruth's Chris (free cheesecake) would be my choices

Panchos. Great food and they let you pick a piñata.

Ruffinos

French market bistro

Moved away from BR a year ago and I miss the hell out of this place! Been going there for probably 10+ years. It is nice as hell since they remodeled it and their food is much better than the sister restaurant Mansur's on the Boulevard. Even their oysters are better

I don't live in the area anymore but when I did I thought Beausoleil was a pretty good place. Anybody have any thoughts on that place these days?

I enjoy ninos if you want something a little more quiet with excellent food. You want some place that you can get a little more loud then I like ruffinos. I generally get thing off the specials menu when I'm there.
