What are your thoughts on Sushi Brothers?

I haven't been. No opinion, but from other posters opinions it seems like a very good call.

I like sushi brothers. I dig their baby octopus salad. Yeah, I'm weird.

Went to one of the newer spots on Oak recently and it was just okay. I liked their selection of sashimi but they were out of a lot of it so that kind of sucked.

Kanno is my favorite by far.

Spicy softshell miso
Softshell crawfish hand roll
Elvis roll
Lobster dynamite roll
Marinated albacore tuna
Yellowtail
Seafood dynamite

The aji at Horinoya is awesome, when they have it.

Also at Horinoya...

Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver)
Hamachi Kama (griled yellowtail neck)
Tarakasuzuke (grilled black cod)
Nuta Ae (seafood salad)

I've never been to Kanno or Horinoya.

Mikimoto South Carrollton roll =

I used to like Kyoto on Prytania but haven't been in years.

Sushi brothers is not all that great IMO. And they rip you off on the seaweed salad.

These are most of my go to items as well. I also love the spicy miso albacore tuna and the very expensive roll.
For people that have not been to Kanno yet, the actual place isn't very nice and the food isn't cheap but I like everything I have ever tried

The majority of Japanese residents in NOLA drive out to Shogun, so I would say Shogun.

Totally agree with Kanno and Mikimoto. Would also through Kyoto 2 in the mix. The one on Citrus in Elmwood.

Sushi Brothers and Sake on Veterans.

Funny story(or disturbing) about Sushi Brothers. My wife and I went there about a year ago, we couldn't find any parking so we ended up parking in the lot across the street and there was a guard at the entrance of the parking lot. Well I took a look at the guards car and it was riddled with bullet holes. I so bad wanted to go Chunk from the Goonies and walk up and say "ORV.....Bullet holes". I know CSB.

I like Sushi brothers. It's close to my house and very good. FEMA roll kicks butt.
