I enjoy Mrs. Renfro's Mango Habanero salsa and Kylito's Scorchin Habanero. Those light me right up.

Great timing for this.
We are having a salsa and lambic/gueze party Saturday.

Does anyone have a good recipe for a homemade salsa? Red or green?

TIA

Nothing on a grocery aisle can be included here.

Lucky habanero, dragon lips is the GOAT. In the deli section of sprouts. Nothing compares.

Within the linked recipe is a Tomatillo Salsa Recipe. It is a green salsa and served warm, or cold for that matter, is incredible. We just serve it in a bowl with good chips -- easy to make and worth a try.

Tomatoes
Lime
Cilantro
Pepper
Garlic
Salt

Play around with the ingredients until you find the flavor you like the most. I add chipotle chile powder to mine too to give it some smokiness.

I gave the simplest combo

I prefer chipotle powder because I get my heat from the habaneros. Adding the peppers in adobo takes away from the habanero flavor.

I usually do a head of garlic in the packet, lightly seasoned with S&P and some olive oil. I use as much garlic as needed to hit the flavor we're looking for. The extra garlic is used on breads or mixed in with softened butter for a great spread.

Would still taste better than anything on the shelf. It's the main reason I have a garden.

I grew those 1 year, tried several different recipes with them, then gave all of them to Jose the lawn guy. Just too much for me.

You can cut out the membrane if you want. Habaneros have such a good flavor to them.

I make a mango habanero one too and the mango cuts the heat considerably. You can always put a few splashes of vinegar to cut heat without altering flavor.

My wife and I are going to try to get my salsa in the farmers market here in the next few months. I love making it.

I like Jack's Special - Medium when I can find it. Mateo's is a good alternative.

Julio’s out of San Angelo. It’s in a plastic tub in the refrigerated section. They just got into the Lafayette market, so not sure how widely available, but it’s fantastic.

Agree homemade is easy and the best, but Julio’s will make you have second thoughts on making your own.
