Best king cake you had THIS season?

I tried about 15 or so different cakes this year and I know you guys will think I’m crazy, but my favorite of them all was a bananas foster version from Albertsons of all places. Had real bananas in it (not that artificially flavored banana pudding crap) and a really tasty rum brown sugar glaze and the flavors paired well with the cinnamon. First runner-up would be the almond wedding cake version from Robert’s Fresh Market.

I went to New Iberia and picked up one from Meche's that everybody went nuts over.

Someone brought me one from a bakery in Slidell, I don't remember the name, and it was incredible.
I had a slice of one from DP and it was good, but not nearly as good as I remembered.

I had 3 from Dong Phoung and found them all to be dry compared to last years.

Carmelita Castle. Sells in Monroe with an ad on her FB page. Hands down the best, most moist king cake of the year. And our office has probably had a dozen delivered so far.

Best by a mile was a brioche king cake from La Petite Sophie bakery in River Ridge.

Is the icing supposed to be crunchy or smooth? I've gotten crunchy every time. It's probably too late for Randazzo's.

Dong Phuong Cinnamon
Rouses Cream Cheese (I usually pimp Calandros and generally hate BR Rouses so take that for what it’s worth. Also haven’t had a Calandros one this year).
