I'll stop by there now that I know. For some reason, no one has ever mentioned it to me before. If I'm jonesing for a burger, I'll generally go to Cheeburger Cheeburger or Mason's Grill for a blue cheese one.

Is there a legit difference?

Or is this poking fun at my O-T comments?

Huh? They're potatoes! Put salt on them and they are just what fried potatoes are supposed to be. Oh and some of that vinegar they have. Great!

dont get me wrong..i LOVE french fries..especially homemade ones..but what 5guys has is NOT good. i can think of probably 15 places here in nashville that slice fresh potatoes for french fries that are much tastier.

bobby's dairy dip for instance..if you live in nashville you know what i'm talking about..only open in the summer but homemade fries..kosher salt 'chunks'...delicious. i could eat my body weight in these things.

i want to like 5guys fries..i mean the build up is very enticing w/ those bags of potatoes all over the restaurant..but theyre just not good. dont know if its the oil or what but they are not good.

any decent gyro place in town also does a better job.

I understand.

I sort of like soggy and greasy fries, so I guess that explains it.

Lee's on Vets/Severn has a drive-thru window. That gets my vote.

I celebrated tonight by getting a Whataburger with jalapenos. In other states, they'll actually ask you if you want in that way, I should have asked the drive-through lady how many people order it like that in BR.

I certainly didn't think griffs would get a vote, but when theyre on they make some pretty good burgers. Now that you mention it, griffs and whataburger are actually very similar.
as an aside, for my monroe peeps the pickle barrel has a really interesting burger. It comes on a jalapeno bun with fresh jalapenos chili and cheese. that is a pretty serious burger. Whataburger gets my vote for be fast food, but masons is my favorite burger in town

I'm scratching my head wondering how What-a-burger has 12 votes...

me too.

i assume everyone from Texas will automatically vote for What-a-burger just b/c?

If Bud's was on the list, the same phenomenon would occur.

I hear you, there was a location near a friend of mines place in Alabama. They affectionately referred to it as "wheres-the-burger" as the patties are somewhat thin...

Fast food has always had competition, there are actual reasons why product popularity comes to be. For Bud's, they did a good job of truly broiling hamburgers when no one else cooked their burgers that way. They also had a good sauce to accompany those burgers.

I've only had Whataburger twice, but impressed that it tasted more "fresh" than a Wendy's, Mcdonald's or Burger King burger.
