Have some friends coming in and they’re cocktail lovers. Wanting to avoid the Quarter this weekend. Where are a few places they would enjoy? I know Cure and Loa are good ones, but not sure of new places.

One gem is the Paradise Lounge at the Hotel Saint Vincent.

I linked dinner because that first photo is the bar. Slick AF. The whole property is.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but Hot Tin is overrated. Usually crowded beyond belief with a type of person that I'm not a huge fan of. Plus, it's not that comfortable in the summer.
I am a huge fan of the Bayou Bar downstairs though. Especially when they have live music.

It's way too small a space for what it's trying to be - or maybe I should say, what it's possibly unwittingly become.

Really awesome. Only a handful of seats though and the surrounding seating area is not great

I don’t blame them. Metairie has zero good cocktail bars

- bougligjy tavern
- the Chloe
- bar marilou

Are a few I haven’t seen mentioned

Plenty of restaurants have great bar programs too. That’s a

I found Hot Tin incredibly overrated when I stayed there and it wasn't even busy. Just a let down. View is nice but that's it - space is small if busy probably can't even get outside

St Vincent bar

Bar service is poor at the st Vincent. Takes forever to get a drink & their spirit list is weak with shitty brands

I agree. It’s basically the cocktail bar equivalent of Desi Vega’s when it comes to crowds.

Bar Marilou is the most imnpressive cocktail bar in the city.

The new bars at the 4 Seasons are ritzy. The bars at The Chloe and the St Vincent are fun and just away from downtown.

If you want to stay away from downtown/uptown, Revel has great cocktails though the ambiance is lacking.

bar tonnique and bijou are pretty cool spots on the outskirts of the FQ, and very close to eachother. Havent been yet, but Chemin a la Mer in the 4 seasons looks to have pretty fancy drinks.

I think I’ll be hitting up Bar Marilou with the wife Saturday night before the game. They have a good bourbon selection?

Blue Ruin is probably the best you're going to get which isn't saying much. Otherwise, catch me over at Genneros.

LOL

I guess this could be for another thread, but there appears to be a place opening soon at the other end of Metairie Rd by the tracks that seems like it has potential. It’s called Parish Line and has some money folks involved. Upstairs will be partially outside.
Metairie really needs a real bar, so I hope it works out
