Friend is driving through BR this week and loves char-grilled oysters. Is Acme the best or is there somewhere better?

If the New Orleans branches are any indication, tell them to go to Drago's. I like Acme, but Drago's has much better char grilled oysters IMO.

Haven't had chargrilled oysters in BR in years, but Acme will never be the best Acme at their best is behind places like Dragos, but then they are also inconsistent on top of that.

I need to try Mansurs.

I really like the ones at Chimes. City Cafe's are good, but a little too pungent with the basting sauce they use. Mason's Grill broils there's and they're pretty good. I wouldn't waste my money on Acme's.

Considering Drago’s invented the chargrilled oyster, I would send your friend to where it was invented.

I've had roux 61, mansurs and acme in BR. I rank them in that order.

Like any other restaurant - it depends on who is cooking them that day

Dragos in Fat City are by far my favorite, but the one time I went to the BR location (albeit when they first opened) they were overly salty. Not sure if they've fixed things since then, but based on that experience, I'd have to say Mansur's.
