Woody's Wood Fired Pizza - Golden, CO
Really surprised by the quality of pizza on a buffet on a busy Saturday night.

Now a good breakfast buffet is $25 and a dinner buffet is $50+.
The one I mentioned is $48, but it includes champagne
Yeah I get that. But that's A LOT. You can find bottomless mimosas for $15 or so a lot of places. I mean its just Andre that's $4/ bottle retail.
I enjoy a breakfast buffet if I'm somewhere on vacation or with family and I don't really have a choice, but I'm just saying $20 goes a loooong way for most breakfast options and that's less than most breakfast buffets.
ETA: another post made me remember, one of the beast buffets as a kid that I feel like was very cheap was the Pizza Hut buffet. Few things better to start the weekend as a kid than the Pizza Hut buffet on friday night.

There's a decent buffet in the mall in Auburn, Al called Ol Times Buffet, or something like that. It's a good value and their veggies, fried chicken, and pulled pork are good. They have a good variety of items too.
Most of the outstanding ones that I know of have closed, like the Hotel Talisi in Tallassee, AL, The Cozy in Thurmont, MD, and Havelis in Marietta, GA. The Hotel Talisi was burned by some idiot thief. The Cozy may have been the best of them all, with great food and a huge selection, not to mention an interesting history. Havelis was the best Indian buffet I have found.

The Shoney's in my hometown had a late night breakfast buffet on Friday nights. It was money after a night of drinking.

Not on the level of world class buffets, but Cajun Catfish Buffet in Ville Platte is very good if you're in the area.

House of Seafood in Bush used to be legit years ago. I think the quality has diminished somewhat over the years, or maybe it's just me.

I’m not southern by birth, my dad was military.
But Auburn had multiple “meat and 3”, basically a meat and 2-3 side dishes like a buffet but counter ordered.
I know “veggies to go “ is still open, is this common in Louisiana at all?

Veggies-To-Go is only in Opelika these days. Pannie George's is still there and is a great meat and 3 cafeteria-style place. The mall has a good buffet.

I think its because of the normal Chinese food aspect and like most they reheat the day before leftovers and put it on the lunch buffet which if you don`t get the fresh stuff it isn`t that appetizing. I quit going at night because i`m not big on boiled seafood and hordes of people at a chinese buffet because they had crawfish, crab, shrimp on weekend nights, and i didnt want to spend $25 on chinese at night when it`s half that during the day.I think it is the best chinese buffet in the area as far as options though.

Did the Caesars Palladium buffet probably 30 years ago and I remember details, filet mignon, Alaskan king crab, I ate like royalty
I think at the time was around US$50, I cannot imagine what it must cost now if it’s even still a thing

Current
Country Kitchen in Gonzales
Vines in Centreville
Does Texas de Brazil count as a buffet?
I've heard the buffet at the Houmas House is pretty good, haven't been yet though.
Past
Cotton's in St Francisville
Fred's truck stop in St Gabriel before they closed/burned down.
Adding Ryan's and the Pizza Hut to the list, buffets made up the majority of times we sat down to eat as a kid. I don't think I went to Chinese buffet until I was in late middle school, but once I did, that's all I wanted.
Buffets are rarely the best food, but I think I have to credit them with expanding my palette
