I tried them a few weeks ago. They got some good boudin. I like Billy's the best but I'll eat a few different places.

Market Basket on Nelson.

Edit: Speaking of boudin, I heard Homsi bought Hackett’s, recipe and all, and is opening it back up sometime in the future.

This is true. George makes a really good boudin. It is a little heavy on the red pepper but has a good rice to meat ratio and overall great flavor. Will be interesting to see what happens when he opens up Hackett’s.

Market Basket smoked boudin is on point. Very good.

Billy’s and Don’s both make great boudin.

It’s hard to pick a best... they are all great and different in their own way. Just depends on what you like.

Cormier's jalapeno boudin in Jennings is fantastic. This place is overlooked by many but it is about as good as it gets.

That fried boudin ball with pepper jack cheese from Billy’s is the best. Their original pork boudin is perfect also.

There are a couple of us that have been saying this for a while. Nobody takes us seriously. Mr Ts boudin is easily better than Billy’s, nunus, tjims, or any other widely accepted best boudin.

I'm not the biggest fan of Cormier's boudin. I think the reason being is once you get West of Bayou Nezpique, the ratio of meat to rice goes WAY down. Starts to be too much like bland Texas boudin (still heat, but no real flavor, need flavor with the heat).

That's also why I don't care for Market Basket, though it seems to get a bunch of love on here.

I have yet to try Mr. T's.

Tried Kartchner's for the first time this past week, and I did find it very good. I'll put it on par with Billy's, a bit higher than Nunu's and Don's.

My favorite still is Johnson's Boucaniere in Lafayette. Perfect meat to rice ration and perfect heat.

Very under rated link. They absolutely know what they are doing.

I’m basically the same... however the Kartchners I got the other day was good. I’ll also enjoy Eunice Superette boudin as well... tends to be a little more “liver tasting” which I personally enjoy. It’s just tough to get my hands on hot being in BR. I get to eat the other 2 when I visit my dad in Acadia parish. Eunice isn’t exactly just down the road from his place.

That all being said.... The Mowata store before it shut down was the shite and the best I’ve ever had. Used to wear that place out back in the day. I know it opened back up, but haven’t been there since.
