I take store brand (I know - yuk) and doctor it up - cook down some mango juice, add other spices. OR - Sweet Baby Ray's straight up. I don't put it on the meat when I cook though. I cook and let people put it on themselves.

If you can find Blue Plate BBQ Sauce it is a great concentrate but it is only sold wholesale now.

I once taste tested a quart of Dreamland sauce, obtained directly from the founder, against Blue Plate and they were almost identical. Different ingredients, I'm sure, but the end result was a very similar taste.

Someone once posted on here that Jay's sauce was actually Blue Plate. And Blue Plate is still available from Reilly foods, but you have to buy a wholesale lot (I think 4 gallons min).

I like to get different boutique ones once I finish a bottle. This last one I've bought was the Shed Spread.

I forgot all about Rudy's sauce til I saw this thread. That is some good stuff. I typically use Sweet Baby Ray's. The sauce is the boss!

A 50/50 mix of Sweet Baby Ray's and Jack Miller's is pretty damn good.

i never understood the appeal of Cattleman's. we bought it once and my wife reaction was "it just tastes like ketchup." can't say i disagreed with her.

i like to make my own but if i'm buying off the shelf, I usually go Stubbs.

of course, i'm not really a BBQ sauce guy. in general, i prefer my BBQ with just a dry rub.
