So plan to head to Kaufman Stadium to catch a Royals game next week and looking for the best BBQ.

The one I've heard mentioned the most is Joe's which is about 20 minutes away from the stadium. Is that the consensus number 1 or is there another that is better?

I don’t know how KC became known for bbq. I’ve found it to be very average there

In Kansas City they always brag about the burnt ends. I don't get it. If they are so good then why not just burn the whole brisket?

Joe's and jack stacks are my go to spots
Tried Q39 and it was just ok.
Found an awesome Italian restaurant tucked down in a neighborhood that's really good, Gorazzos

Make sure and go to the Joe’s that is in the gas station and not one of the chain ones.

Joes’s gas station location is usually my 1st stop . Try Arthur Bryant’s Original also. It’s been around since 1908 I believe. Slaps and Jack Stack are also ones to try.

Definitely no to Arthur Bryant’s. My favorite is Slap’s, followed by Jack Stack, Joe’s, Q39 and Char Bar.

The only place I have tried is LC's. Kinda in the hood but the rib tips and baked beans were delicious.

There is JC’s very close, pretty darn good. I like Old school, Arthur Bryant’s
In the hood on Brooklyn Ave. . Half to have the pork and beef combo with lard fried fry’s and a tooth cracking cold Bud on Tap. Sauce is very unique and great.
You need to try as many of these as you can. Don’t skip Q39 either. Gates on 103 is great place for ribs, get the short end. Joes is good but to me not special. Folks who don’t like BBQ go there. I’ve herd good things about Slaps but haven’t been there.

We were on a road trip a month ago and we stopped at Arthur Bryant's original, and I agree with you, I was not impressed. I was heading to another one and saw the signs for AB and called an audible, was not that good.

That’s the plan. It’s like 20 minutes past Kaufman. Looks like an old gas station in between some actual gas stations.

We’re going to the Ozarks for baseball and taking an afternoon to knock out MLB stadium #11.
