Well non of the cajun prairie places placed in the boudin cookoff how da hell you would think they would fare against the river parishes in an andouille cookoff...not very good....Jacobs would kick all dar butts ...

My favorite place in the Lafayette/Scott area to get boudin. Top tier. It is a hidden gem.

The rest of their food is meh. The entire menu sounds good but it is all very rich with less meat than I would like to see on a sandwich.

Haha.

Have had both. No inclination to roll with the River Parishes if the Prairie is available.

No worries. We're talking tastes. In the words of Billy Gibbons:

"I had one glad hand and the other behind.
You can have yours, just give me mine."

My dad used to say, “if everybody liked the same thing, everyone would be trying to bang your mom.”

If you want to take a short ride, one of the Folse cousins has a smoke house in St James. 45 min from BR. His andouille is as good or better than Jacob’s /Bailey’s. He makes other items and a bunch of creative sausages. Worth a trip.

Why would the River parishes crap do any better? What do they know about andouille?

ill be honest, i havent found many good sausages br and east, nola area especially sucks the big sausage in that regard.

rabideaux has the best sausage and actually market basket isnt far behind if they have an actual smokehouse there.

the boudin places in the laffy area are not too far behind either.

btw you can order rabideaux basic pork from Sams, its not as good as their deer and pork but better than 99.99% of the stuff most of yall are getting

Anybody tried the Best Stop Andouille? I see that it’s available at Rouses now. Does it have a weird casing?

Casing is synthetic and andouille is just weird in general. Big oblong shape and not much smoke. Andouille should be heavily smoked.

I did not like it. Ate it cause I’m a fat arse, but would never buy again. Love their different boudins and buy often at the main store, Rouses and Albertsons.
