Busken Bakery, a long-running local business in Cincinnati, began making Bengals-themed king cakes during the team’s playoff campaign. They called it “The King of the Jungle Cake.”

Those are sugar sprinkles. I'd imagine they are made the same way every other color sprinkles are made.

I'm not sure if that's sugar or asphalt.

Using the same process they make Oreos with.

The stuff on that pastry isn't it.

Isn't king cake just a cinnamon roll in reality? I like them a lot but I always think they are just a cinnamon roll without icing on top (some have it inside or it's more like a honey bun topping)

What is different about the taste profile.

As I said, I've had a few in my day (nowhere near as many as people in LA) but every time I just think it tastes like a good cinnamon roll.

And everyone loves a good cinnamon roll so that's not a complaint at all

If they were all that good to begin with there wouldn’t be a need to fill them with cream cheese and do other things to make them more appealing.
People in La. Know good food and these things would not be a thing if not for tradition.
