The owners were paid a handsome paycheck and decided to walk away from the restaurant afterwards.

I made so much cash waiting tables there in college, $300 and even $400 weekend nights were common. For a college kid, that was baller money.

St. Patty’s party was ridiculous.

What years?

I waited tables there for 3 months but my service career was cut short due to me wanting to party for st Patrick’s day instead of work so I quit the night before

the best times to go out. That era will never be topped. They never checked ID's at the Lafayette location. We would drink there right out of high school.

In the early 80's, it was the first place I'd ever had a chimichanga. It was a life changing experience.

Wasn’t the guy walking to the daiquiri place across Ambassador? That spot was popular for awhile.

Bennigans

The Monte Cristo was the bomb. Basically a club sandwich dipped in batter and deep fried, then sprinkled with powdered sugar. A artery clogger for sure but damn they were tasty as hell.

Yeah, I would routinely drink there when I was 17 years old. Actually, that wasn't really uncommon in Lafayette in the '80's.
