7) Hopping to the X power - I loathe this marketing gimmick.
This is about the only one that really bothers me. For me, there's a fine line between a well hopped IPA, and an over hopped IPA, and more and more I'm seeing new IPA's hit the market that are in the latter. Hopped up just to be hopped up. Give me good balance.
The limited release craze is a bit annoying, but I understand why breweries do it, especially smaller ones.

It has exploded with BMC having a lot of power with distributors. Imagine if they didn't.

Like BBQ now, very limited supply must mean it's phenomenal.

This one does bother me, but only because it's not always used properly.
DDH or 4XDH should have a specific meaning, twice (or four times, etc.) the amount of dry hops as the base beer.
With no base beer, there's nothing to double.

Except smoked or pepper beers. I agree that those should go away. Oh, and pumpkin beers, too, but it seems that has somewhat passed.
Agreed on pumpkin/christmas ales. I could definitely do well to never drink another one.
On the pepper beers, I love the Central Waters Space Ghost. Enough heat to know it's there but it's balanced by the malt of the stout.

I don't like the 750ml format for any beer.
Waxed caps are also unnecessary. They function only for
sales purposes - to distinguish that beer from anything else on the shelf.
I'm a fan of cans. No light can taint the beer. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable. Bottles are just wasted, not even recycled anymore.
IPA's should come in a 6pk of 12oz cans or a 4pk of 16oz cans. If you're gonna charge $12/4pk, just man up and charge $18 6pk or $15/4pk.
Sours should be sold in 12oz packages. Nobody wants to spend $65 on a 750ml Sour you've never tried before.
Finally, and Parish does a good job of this, you don't have to create a new name and label for every new variant of beer you produce. The prime example of good behavior being DDH Envie. They're marked Mosaic, Citra, Galaxy, El Dorado, etc... but it's still under the same label. Save the new labels for truly unique offerings.

This, beer is becoming akin to bourbon in that it is only great if you cant find it or its a rare release. The other major problem with beer is the 3 Tier system. Google it if you want, but this is what is keeping beer from really exploding.
In a few states, correct. Some states do not have this archaic law. California and Oregan being a couple.

The only beer I've liked that used pepper was the Westbrook Mexican Cake stout. It was just subtle enough to let you know it was there, but didn't overpower the beer.
The Habanero Sculpin is terrible by itself, but I mixed it 50/50 with a Grapefruit Sculpin and it was delicious.

Biggest problem in “craft” beer is the people that still support breweries that sold out to major conglomerates that take up shelf space from true local craft breweries.

Also, the craft emphasis on IPAs. Damn there's shite-ton of those.

$12-14/ 4 packs are becoming a little too common, especially for beers that aren’t great.

I generally just buy beer I like, regardless of who owns it. Exhibit A being BCBS. I actually think we could stand a little contraction in the craft beer industry. There is some pretty shitty stuff out there.

That's the "biggest problem"?

IPAs aged on fruit or with fruit flavor added. Maybe I’ve never had a really good one, but it just seems to defeat the purpose in making an IPA and doesn’t end up tasting like a beer.

I think the only bigger problem would be restrictive laws, but those obviously vary wildly from state to state.

I have a waekness for the fruity IPAs in the summertime. Grapefruit Sculpin is my favorite. The Lagunitas Citrusenesis(sp?) is also really good, though technically a Pale Ale.
There are some really bad ones out there though.

Its certainly a bigger problem than peppers in beer, but i agree with boo, the restrictive laws that dont allow self distribution are a bigger problem.

The haze craze kind of bugs me. Not so much the beers, as some are really good, but rather it seems a segment of the haze lovers dismiss everything that isn't a hop bomb as inferior.
And if a brewery makes 10 versions of the same haze beer then they are crowned the best brewery around.
Just add a different juice to it.
