Two really solid taco joints a few blocks apart. Barracuda and El Cucuy on Tchopitoulas.
Lately I've been an El Cucuy guy because they have inside dining and AC. Both are very good.

How do they compare price wise with Government taco? I like Jay Ducote’s food, but I feel like I’m getting ripped off when I eat there. La Morenita’s $3 tacos are hard to beat.

Most tacos were 3-4 dollars. They raised their prices by 60 cents or so due to ingredient inflation.

Had Barracuda tonight, and even with a drizzle the line was down the sidewalk. It’s only $10 for a pork bowl that will fill you up. Their veggie tacos are usually solid which comes in clutch on Fridays in Lent.

Was a staple for the wife and I when we lived in NOLA. Margs leave a lot to be desired, but the tacos are great and well priced
