Heading to Austin this weekend for a few days. Anyone have any good recommendations for the area?

Suerte for Mexican. Much better bbq in Austin than Terry Blacks if bbq is what you’re after.

There was a recent thread on the travel board with a lot of Austin recommendations. Going to paste what I put in there:

- Odd Duck
- Emmer & Rye
- Techo Mezcaleria & Agave Bar
- La Holly
- Dai Due
- Juan in a Million (Only time I go is for breakfast)
- Kerlin BBQ (My preference over la Barbecue in East Austin)
- Better Half Coffee & Cocktails
- Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden (My go-to if I need to vacate a hotel and wait for a flight)
- Austin Beer Garden Brewing (Have been here a couple times before dinner at Odd Duck)
- Spokesman
- Lazarus Brewing (surprisingly, some of the better tacos I've had in Austin)

Favorite fancy restaurant when I lived there was Trulucks. They have awesome drinks and they are half off during happy hour.

Highly recommend Moonshine patio Bar and grill.
If you like craft beer, Pinthouse has the best beer by far in Austin

ATX Cocina was great when we went back in October, the roasted short rib was really good and big enough for 3-4 people.

Any good pizza recs? I’ll have my kids with me when I’m going so I’m sure they’ll want to grab pizza for a meal. Home Slice?

I don’t do pizza much when I’m in Austin, so a local might be able to help you out more. I really like Home Slice, but have only been once since it’s a little annoying to get to for a weekend visitor.

Home Slice

Can't go wrong with Home Slice. Their italian sandwich is killer, too.

East Side Pies, super thin crust. Some crazy topping combos or build your own.

Via 313, detriot style thick crust. Their thinner crust is also good.

Pinthouse, brewpup pizzeria.
