I wonder what the criteria was to get the grant? The list of Baton Rouge Restaurants is 3 pages long and some of them were in trouble before covid hit.

It's a federal grant, so is the 5.8 million only for their BR locations?

I just searched the Atlanta suburb I live in (Lawrenceville) ... saw a spot that I regularly go to, where I've had conversations with the guy, asking if they've been okay, have they weathered the storm. "Oh, we never missed a beat, we been killin' it the whole time, actually boosted the delivery aspect of the business." ... they're a quarter mile from the largest hospital in Gwinnett County, population right under 1 million.
But they got a six figure grant to "revitalize" the business.

What does that even mean?
The company, headquartered in BR, that got the 5 million has 9 Walk Ons locations and almost 30 other restaurants across various states. Its completely believable that they had a legit 5 million loss of revenue during the pandemic lockdowns. On top of that, with the way this company is ran, I doubt theyre going to fudge these numbers and jeopardize the operation with the Feds.
From my quick look at the recipient list, the places that jump out to me are grocery stores. Thats my lol

The criteria for eligibility was almost laughable. The only calculation you needed was gross revenue for 2019-2020. Whatever the difference was is what you could apply for.

It means when given a choice of what restaurants to help out, the top two were big, shitty chains. I'm sure the local GMs are happy, but I'd rather have seen more of that money go to mom and pop shops.

Youre bitching about a company which was started here in BR, grew to be able to spread across the US pretty rapidly, and still chose to put its headquarters right smack next to the original location. Meanwhile the company is ran correctly and run by good people. Its also not 'shitty'
