McPhail is the only Chef since Jamie Shannon. I'm not trying to be a hater. I like Commanders. I just feel the best restaurants constantly improve and keep up with the times. Stella and Restaurant August Come to mind. Commanders is exactly the same as it was 10 years ago. Feels a little dated, and not in a good way like Antoine's or Galatoire's.

I've always found Commander's food ok, but not outstanding. Usually go for the service which is great.

Interested to see what you consider to be "Top 5"... I still think Commander's holds the top spot, and I've been to 'em all. Stella and August have failed to impress me.

I like Muriel's I find Chef Gus Martin to be very under-rated. He used to head the Palace Cafe, I find his food and special dishes to be top-notch.
