We went ahead and cleaned one and fried it up but my youngest son got a little sick but I'm not sure if that was because of the way it was prepared or if coy are just not edible. Beautiful looking fish that I would hate to see go to waste.

edible
feed them with non-GMO food for a week. clean the pond.
bake thoroughly.
should be fine.
I see Blue Heron swooping koi near here.

I'll never understand why so many people don't just google what things are worth before they decide to do something stupid with them.

One of the four or five best comments I've ever read on this board. Well done.

Interwebz says some large ones can go for $3G.
They possibly ate a $3,000 fish

I just searched Hedberg + koi after I submitted to make sure.

If this thread is true, no telling what he killed and fed to them.
He could have fed them a 20 year old fish worth a ton.

Had no idea "coy" fish were that valuable.

Right.. learn something new everyday.
Update... my kin are all still alive and well. My son getting sick might have been unrelated. Definitley not going to leave the "gold" fish for the next homeowners. Good thing we found out they were so valuable... the oil was still hot!

Yes, but they can be teases.

If this is actually legit, take some pics of the fish. Depending on the size, I could rehome them if you're looking to get rid of them
