so strange. have they been going to waste while your parents have lived at the house? they are pets/decorations, not fish meant to be eaten.
did you catch it with a rod and reel?

i practice catch and release with Koi

Best way to cook coy is to throw it on a wood slab, bake it in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes. When its done, throw away the coy and eat the wood slab

Your son sounds like a helluva outdoorsman. I bet he could drop a cow with a deer rifle from 100 yards, easy.

Gang, don't be mad at nes2010 for ruining the story. And possibly the evening. It's totally fine

Why not just leave the fish for the new homeowners? It may be something that should go along with the purchase of the house.

Interwebz says some large ones can go for $3G.

they have a huge pond with some nice size coy. We went ahead and cleaned one and fried it up
This is one of the most redneck things I've ever read.

Yeah, they are edible, but so are bull nuts.. Its just a matter of whether or not you want to eat them..
Personally, I would not, if I had other options.

Pretty much tasted like catfish. Couldn't really tell with all the tartar sauce

Take pics next time. Thread would have been epic across 3 boards, Outdoor, OT, and Food.
