it is a pinnacle of French cuisine.
absolutely the best French onion soup I have ever had was at la tour bistro in vail CO. That soup was so good i remember it vividly which is becoming less and less likely these days LOL

I love it, but hate the soggy arse bread some places put on top. Just put cheese on it and let it be.

I love making it, and do so the old fashioned, proper way. It does take a while to make it that way, but well worth it in the end.

It's not my favorite, but it is good. My favorite is my version of Cajun Ninja's After the Boil Soup since it is a true meal in a bowl and much heartier than French Onion, no matter how much croutons and cheese you put in it.

Plenty of things. Depending on where you get it, eating it can be almost as hard as old school crawfish bisque with the shells.

I don't like having to use a knife to eat my soup. Having said that, it is fantastic soup. To be honest, I would be happier with the soup and bread on the side.

And the old school crawfish bisque or Turtle soup would be my favorites. Really sad to see bisque almost completely gone. It used to be all over the place. Even smaller restaurants had it. Now I can't think of the last time I saw it on the menu.

I do enjoy making a French Onion Soup at home. So simple and delicious. I made some during the cold snap a couple of weeks ago. Had some flank steak to throw in to make it slightly heartier. No bread and not as much cheese as I would have liked, but it was still delicious. My son brought home leftover onions from 5Guys, which gave it a little extra flavor.

I recognize that soup fromt the OP. Definitely from Tableau. It's very tasty there. Been on the menu since day one.

Used to have it on my menu. People would bring their own bowl for to go orders. Problem is it doesn't hold very long.

I was thinking Luke (but, hell, I just pulled up their menu to realize they don't even offer it). Thanks for clarifying.
