I know it's suppose to be good, heck I even tried to ordered some deep fried on a sandwich. But seeing it legs sticking out like that just give me the heebie jeebes.

I have no problem with Oysters, none with Crawfish or lobsters. Crabs I prefer to break open the shell and eat it but Soft shell ones just look like deep fried wolf spiders to me...

What weirds me out is that almost all restaurants don't wash the crap out before frying them. It's lazy. Only place I found that does them right is sportsman Paradise in Cocodrie. Otherwise I just fry them at home

Not a big fan of them myself as I find them fishy. Maybe I haven't had a good one yet.

The legs are the best part. It's like crab French fries. The middle part sometimes will give me trouble if the shell is a touch too thick and feels like a layer of plastic, but they're delicious.

You mean the yellow fat?

I have a hook-up on soft shells. I get them for $1 each. They not big and some don't have all their legs but I still eat them.

Yeah the fat that turns green and gritty when it's fried. Nasty.

I was visiting my cousin one time. Her husband is a shrimper with a huge boat. Well since company was over she cleaned her freezer out of soft shells and fried them up. She walked in with a big roasting pan piled high with fried crabs. I will never forget that sight.
