Because it is a traditional Cajun meal. I was born in GA but I appreciate and replicate traditional foods from different regions or even countries. They are popular for a reason
Legit backbone stew recipe?

Who makes a good pork backbone stew? I don't trust the Google to give me good info.
Chicken and pork hot dogs with Miracle Whip, soggy generic Cheetos, and 9 Budweiser's. Hello folks! Hope all y'all are doing well. I miss chatting with my F&D friends.

Bowls of cheese grits with scrambled eggs, smoked deer sausage, bacon, sauteed mushrooms and bell peppers (not in lil Dawg's) mixed in. Topped with more cheese and green onion tops (not in lil Dawg's). Basically an omelette in a bowl with grits. Whole grain toast with honey butter.

I really like sauteed or roasted vegetables over pasta with olive oil and parmesan. That with some baked fish or grilled deer meat.
Shrimp and grits often.
Breakfast for supper.
Grilled burgers and hot dogs with tots.
Salads with either bought rotisserie chicken or home roasted chicken.
Red or white beans with ham and andouille or smoked sausage and cornbread.
I make a huge homemade sub sandwich with a lot of meat, cheese, and veggies often.
Roasts and stews, both deer and beef in colder weather.
I like to marinate chicken or pork in Mojo and either grill or sautee and make tacos with the shredded meat, chopped onion and cilantro.
We eat a pretty good variety, so there really is nothing we make enough to get tired of. Lil Dawg, on the other hand is a picky eater. He would eat fried chicken with macaroni and cheese, or pizza every meal if we would let him. We constantly try to get him to eat other things. Sometimes successfully.

Corn tortillas stuffed with scrambled eggs, charizo, onions, bell peppers, sliced cherry tomatoes, and some pepper jack cheese. Whole grain toast with fig preserves and grits.

I would pair it with beer if eaten as is. I normally pair it with beans or chicken in a gumbo.

Haven't been online much lately. Spending time with the family. They are at the church Christmas play practice tonight, so I decided to check in with the FDB. Hope you have been well.
Hey folks! Hope yall have been well!
WFDT is smoked gouda, rosemary asiago, brie, sharp white cheddar, grapes, cherry tomatoes, red bell pepper, goat cheese, prosciutto, summer sausage, smoked deer sausage, cracked pepper and olive oil and fire roasted tomato and olive oil Triscuits. Spent a bunch at Kroger on cheese and crackers tonight, but grazing well.

Had some baked catfish with teryaki glaze and cream cheese grits with a salad on the screened porch tonight. I heard 4 different bullfrogs at the pond across the road. Gigging time is closing in. GA lets us gig them with no limit. Going to introduce the boy to frog killing this year. Hope to not offend Bossier and Al Gore by taking frogs and contributing to global warming.

Bossier, I like to catch spawners so I can eat fried roe sacks. I don't think keeping a mess from a 20 acre pond impacts the ecosystem too much. AL Gore and you can rest easy now.
Earthworms from my compost pile was the bait today.

[/img] Lil Dawg and I hit a pond with a buddy of mine today and he put it on us pretty good. He caught these 3. The biggest two weighed 11-6 and 7-10. The other was around 4. His biggest fish ever, by far. Not bad for a 6 year old.
[/img] Some filets, grits and a salad. My boy caught these today. Biggest was 11lbs 6oz. Proud of lil Dawg!

That was an awesome post. Too bad he doesn't post here anymore.
My banana sandwich with Duke's mayo on fresh white bread tastes no where near as good as my Grandmother's banana sandwich with Duke's mayo on fresh white bread. I know this for a fact.
