Since I usually drink my hard liquor as a mixer, I don't go in for the top shelf brands. I've also gotten away from the "brown" liquors since I found they affect me in a way I'd rather not deal with.
With vodka, it's usually in a Bloody Mary, Screwdriver or mixed with cranberry juice.
A favorite for summertime heat is a glass of ice, couple shots of gin, a few ounces of Sprite and a squeeze of lemon.
Tequila is either a Margarita in a salted glass or in shots with salt and a lemon wedge.
Rum is almost always over ice with coke and a squeeze for a Cuba Libra or mixed with juices and fruit for a daiquiri.

That was my exact sentiments when I was drinking the brown liquors, especially Jack Black.
Same thing happens to me if I drink too many draft beers for some reason. I can drink the same amount in bottles beer, but draft beer in the same quantity leaves me with a bad headache.

No. I love vodka.
Particularly vodka water with no fruit.

I don't hate it, but I don't really drink it much. Other than bourbon, I don't really drink much liquor period.
I do enjoy a vodka soda with lime every now and then, but can only do one before moving to beer or wine.

Kirkland's American Vodka at $12 for a 1.75L is very good and neutral and a steal for the quality/price ratio. Svedka is also quite nice but has a bit of citrus undertones. Either works just fine straight over ice and of course a mixer. Wife likes the Van Gogh line of flavored vodkas but after experimenting with making our own infusions we just use the Kirlands for a base.

Switched to Bloody Maria (tequila instead of vodka) many years ago and never looked back
