Interested in getting an oil less air fryer and was wondering how well it does fried chicken or catfish?

Got one for Christmas. I'm thinking about taking it for a spin tomorrow.

Wife got a small one for Christmas and we tried frying shrimp in it. It was terrible. She returned it.

We got one as a wedding gift and I like it a lot for Buffalo wings. However, it doesn’t fry breaded chicken very well, as the breading just doesn’t get crispy like a traditional deep fry.

I got one for Christmas. Just did some mothaf----n wings, gonna do more mothaf----n wings tomorrow in honor of Kamara.

Wings come out delicious. Haven't tried it for anything else yet. Planning to do a turkey soon.

Got one from my MIL. I have only used it for grilled cheese. Honestly I haven’t found a recipe that I can’t cook without the fryer. I have pots and pans. My biggest complaint is that it’s another kitchen gadget that takes up counter or cabinet space.

if anyone has issues with getting shite crispy, spritz it with a little olive oil before cooking

We got one for Christmas and used it for first time last night. Did something easy just to test it out - breaded some chicken tenders with flour and panko. They came out crispy as hell, so I was pleasantly surprised. Look forward to using again.

I did catfish once. It was good. Thinner pieces (not manchac thin shite) came out better.

I had a chicken leg and thigh from it. Battered. It was pretty good. Dark meat has enough of its own fat in it.

We have one and love it. I seasoned a couple chicken breasts the other day and threw them in there not knowing how it would turn out. They actually came out great. Very flavorful, tender and juicy. It also works great for reheating leftover fried food.

I cooked with it for the first time last night. It worked great. Chicken wings and french fries. Less than a tablespoon of olive oil for each.

Got one for Christmas. Fried some shrimp for my husband, and while I can see that it has potential, I didn't do a very good job of it. I think wings will be my next thing.

So these air fryers are basically a convection oven with the heat source outside of the cooking chamber?
