Place is awesome. Their new location is about a mile from my house. I'm going to give them a lot of my money.

Italian lover and the Maria are both great.

Hell the Roast Beef po-boy they do is great. Try it sometime.
(not a gravy po-boy just for the record)

I have to limit myself as I have developed a nasty gorganzola stuffed olive habit over the years.

Been eating at the old location for 35 years.
Really hate to see them move, but I wish them all the best.

Good people, guess I need to drop in Saturday one last time.

The meanest man I have ever encountered in the state of Louisiana. We ordered sandwiches in between a wake and a funeral we were attending up the street, and had a limited amount of time before needing to get back for a funeral service. After a significant wait, I asked if the sandwiches were ready, and explained we were in a hurry to get back to the funeral home for a funeral. He reprimanded me and told me that I "should have ordered ahead if I was in such a hurry." We took our bag and left. After arriving at the funeral home with our sandwiches and starting to eat, the man walks into the kitchen of the funeral home and tells us we "took the wrong sandwich" and owed him $15 dollars.

But goes to show if you put out a great product, location does not matter. So may restaurants blame location when it's either a bad product or poor management that causes their demise. People travel for good food--you almost HAVE to in this town.

The thing with Anthony's is, it WAS a great location. Most of the people still patronizing it used to live in that area when it was good. The product is so stellar that when that location BECAME bad, after those people moved away, they would still return for that product. They are not being all that supported by their neighborhood.

Where they are going now, the people in the neighborhood itself will support it PLUS most of those who patronized it before. It's a huge win for them.

My fiance still surprises me with their take home tiramisus even though we live a good 45 minute drive away. I've paid people in sandwiches when I had to move some stuff from that side of town. Can't wait for their new location.

Do you think that guys story is completely true? I'm guessing not, bc he is acting extremely immature in all his FB comments.

No. I think there's more to the story.
And the sandwiches they make at Anthony's are so good, I'm willing to forgive a little bad behavior.

this, people who take to social media and pile on like this immature person does have bigger issues than a sandwich shop.

I cannot wait for it to open

Best in BR probably but I can't find a good one here. I like DiMartina's in New Orleans much better though.

When is it supposed to open? I heard back in November that it was supposed to open right after the new year.

With Baton Rouge traffic, that's often a 20-30 minute difference in drive time
