Get a Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast Iron Fry Pan. If you have an outlet near you, you may want to try there.

Get this deal and in 15 minutes your Lodge is fixed and you can begin to re-season.

In my experience Lodge makes some pretty high quality cast iron.

We have a large cast iron and dutch oven from Lodge and they are amazing. I'm not sure about what more expensive cast irons would bring to the table because I'm not that educated on them but we like the brand.

I am not a fan of enameled cast iron. This Thanksgiving I purchased a Lodge 9 Qt Dutch oven and made a Turkey gumbo. Not sure what more I could ask for from Lodge cast iron. I often pull out my Lodge skillets to cook and sear steaks, make eggs, make stir fry, etc. my 5 qt Lodge Dutch oven has made many jambalaya, Etouffes, fricassee, smothered chicken, gumbos, chili, fried food, etc.

Please tell me how to get better because I am not understanding. If one is looking for name brand and snobbery then okay I get it and will stick with Lodge.

I gotta agree with everything nolatiger just said.

We use a variety of 100 year old cast iron skillets and lodge dutch ovens and as long as they're properly seasoned you can make virtually anything with them.

Not sure what the enamel does for you.

Staub 4qt $99.00

This is a great pot and a great deal. It can be found at several other places. Someone posted it here I think MD several years ago at this time and I’ve bought a few. Can fit a whole chicken to roast and inexpensive enough to give as a gift.

A chicken I roasted in it

Made a nice small split pea soup in one the other day. Always on sale this time of year.

Sounds like an end user misuse. An uneven Lodge is hard to believe. If you told me some of those “Cajun” cast iron ones that is made in China then I would agree with you. If you have a unev Lodge then you should return it. If you cannot reason it properly then you are doing something wrong. I will tell you my no name brand cast iron I bought from king looker does flake and I need to sand it and re season. However all my lodge pots are solid.

I’ve never found the cast iron juice to be worth the squeeze to be honest, despite the old wives tales and almost mythological aura that attribute to it.

I have used Lodge my entire life. Decided to spend a little more on a Prepd Skillet here:
LINK

This thing is smoother than an infants bottoms and absolutely incredible. I'm sad I didn't go the route of a smooth pan sooner. The 12" is on sale right now for $120
