We’re going to be here for 4 nights and going to make dinner out of Buddy’s twice. One steamed seafood meal, and one grilled/blackened meal with whatever fish and big shrimp they have.

I don't really find anything in the area a "must eat."

For what they are, I like Great Southern, Red Bar, Seagrove Village Market, and Angelina's Pizza (I find that Pizza by the Sea place horrid).

Did Shunk Gulley for the first time last time I was there as well, and could probably add it to the list.

I don't find anything in the area "higher end" to be worth the money or hassle really.

I used to love going to the Boathouse for Oysters. The ambience is superb, if it hasn't fallen in the water by now.

I used to live in Destin and have a lot of family in the Panhandle, and Boathouse was my spot for oysters and beer after work. It has not fallen in the water yet, but it's gotten a good bit more touristy and lost some of the ambience you probably remember

agreed. Most of the restaurants are average. I think I like Perfect Pig and Blue Mapel the best.

Surfing deer is way over priced for what you get as an example.

You play at all? It’s a great sport. Want to start playing whenever I visit new areas.

Cafe 30A and Pescado are always in the rotation when we go. Pescado has one of the best bourbon selections in the gulf south

find a good pickleball game

Try Hidden Dunes or Regatta Bay. You can probably get in by telling the gate guard that you are there for pickleball.

Also, there's a women's friendship group on Nextdoor and a 30A men's group on Facebook. Try connecting with local groups on social media, to find opps for matches.

Cook at home. Other than that, the only decent place is Acme oyster house

Cafe 30A is awesome, but not with kids.
Try Great Southern, FOOW, Bud & Alleys, Pickles, Airstream row in Seaside & the Hub (both have lots of room to run), Shunk Gulley, Grayton Seafood Co, Crackings (breakfast), Chanticleer , Seagrove MarketCafé, Old Florida Fish House.

ETA: and Grayton Beer Brewpub too.

beach perfection

Love this place!

Morning at Topsail Hill Preserve, wind was 16 mph, rough surf.

Afternoon was cloudy, looking west toward Tops'l and Sandestin. No one on the Topsail beach looking west.
