Off waivers to keep your opponent from getting them? Trying to figure out where the majority stand on this. Ive done it and received some backlash in the past.

Its something i usually only consider during the playoffs

No. It’s part of the game. Your league mates are pussies.

Do that shite all year! It’s legit strategy and should be embraced.

I noticed my playoff opponent had a shite matchup for Defense last year and spent Saturday night picking up and dropping every single FA defense so he couldn't change them. Also spent the remainder of my budget once on a QB when my next weeks opponent in playoffs had his starter go down with injury without a backup.

If using roster spots and holding on to a guy then I'm on board. I'm doing that this week with a few bench QBs against a team with Lamar Jackson. He's had to pick up Matt Ryan as a backup.

But adding and dropping guys to block pickups is too far, imo. I enforce a rule that a player added and cut within 24 hours goes back to free agency.

Some of the apps prevent this...Yahoo for sure I believe. I picked up a WR, changed my mind and got another. Guy picked up that first WR an hour or so later.

Legit strategy.

Now picking up then immediately dropping, picking up the next guy, dropping, etc. just to lock everyone up and send to waivers is bullshite. Someone pulled that shite in TDFL one year and created quite the stir.

Same for ESPN, I’m almost sure. At least our league settings.

lol no

Fantasy Football is decided by luck too much to worry about that. Play defense with your waivers

Okay, to me that is too far. Now, we have it set to where players have to be held for 24 hours before they cant be claimed that week. So its not possible anyway

How about picking up players by teams that are out of the playoffs? Our league dosent play for anything if you aren’t in the playoffs. No draft positions are determine, no punishments etc.

We do have a couple spiteful owners that I’m thinking won’t be out of their character. And I’m thinking with all the vivid bs, waiver wire will be active this week. Does this happen in your leagues?

It's called jock blocking and it's an important part of fantasy football. I do it all the time.

That's what's referred to in the fantasy community as roster churning and a lot of sites will just place those players back into free agency if not owned for a specific minimum amount of time.

Our league has a playoff bracket and a consolation bracket. Once a team is eliminated from money contention in either bracket I lock their team to prevent any further moves.

Yeah that's bullshite. Completely fricked. Now going through and picking up the best defense so he cant have that one that has a juicy matchup? That's strategy, but picking up and dropping so he cant even pick one up is pussy play

I am a dick for doing it, but there was no rule against it and I benefited, so I will never apologize.

I also use my remaining FA budget to pick up any decent players throughout the playoffs, even if I am already eliminated. If I can't have nice things, no one should.
