I would just like to reiterate that my reply was NOT sarcasm. I would absolutely not take Evans over Greg ROS.

frick no. Some idiot in my league dropped zeurlien four weeks ago and I spent $10 on him. He’s been my best player since then.

Plus Evans is fricking trash

I don't know how productive Zuerlien has been but I dropped Succop a few weeks ago while he was on his bye and he was snatched up. Been regretting dropping him every since. Gone from getting about 10-20 points from my kicker to getting about 8 points if I'm lucky.

. . . And I should've learned my lesson after dropping Lutz 3 weeks prior for his bye and getting lucky Succop was there when I did.

I have both Evans and Zuerlien, and Zuerlien has been far better than Evans. Zuerlien is my MVP now that Deshaun tore his ACL. Zuerlien averages like 14 a game, he’s fricking insane

Who is the other guy's kicker?

Evans is currently a top 10 receiver in standard. #12 in ppr.

Is this a troll attempt? You usually seem like a guy who knows his stuff.

I was being facetious earlier but somehow people are literally saying to keep the kicker.

I agree with the disaster that is the Tampa bay bucs and their QB situation along with the suspension of Evans I like Greg better. In PPR they are both averaging about 14 a game . I think Greg is more reliable ROS.

There are plenty of mainstream fantasy player types. That's what makes season-long leagues so unpredictable because so much luck is involved.

These same folks generally use rankings and per-game average as justifications/narratives.

Not hating on the casual folks by any means. Just stating a fact that most of the idiotic threads/responses come from a different crowd

Generally yes. This thread is different though. Normally I’d say this thread is idiotic too. But let’s look at the numbers:

Zuerlien is averaging 3 more points per game than the 2nd best kicker. 27% more points per game than the 2nd best kicker. Compare it to the rest of the top 10 kickers now. They average slightly less than 10 points per game. Zuerlien is averaging 40% more points per game than your average starting kicker. I’ve seen kickers perform above the average, but this is insane. He’s also consistent as frick. One game outside the top 10 kickers all season

Now let’s look at Evans. Ranked number 9 on avg points per game in my half PPR league. Averaging 12.1 per game. Less than Zuerlien, but let’s compare to the average WR2, which is who he would replace in this guy’s lineup. That’s WRs 11-20 in points per game avg. They average 11.3 points per game. Looking at the differential there, replacing an average WR2 with Evans would add 0.8 per game.

0.8 per game for replacing an average WR2 with Evans. But getting rid of Zuerlien and replacing him with your average starting kicker (assuming he can find the average on the waiver wire), he loses 4 per game. Total change in the trade is -3.2 points per game

Edit: on top of that, Evans is suspended for one game, his offense and team are trending down at a very rapid rate, he’s lost his QB to injury for several games, and between his next game and week 16 (end to most fantasy leagues) he plays 4/6 on the road

He could be replacing his flex with Evans.

Ok well despite all the super elite Mensa member FF posters calling us morons, the math says I would have lost at least 3 games this year replacing greg’s production with evans’. So I’ll keep being a “mainstreamer” and winning and you can have the overrated POS WR on a shite team with a disastrous QB situation.

You’re failed attempt at wit it just proving my point. This game isn’t played in a vacuum

Just admit that you’re suffering from a terrible case of recency bias.

You’re comparing a position that starts 1 guy (K) to a position that can be started in 3-4 spots in some leagues (WR)

If you could start Zuerlein at WR you may be on to something

This x1000. Not only are you getting a top 10 type WR, you're getting another player in the event of injury, for bye weeks, etc. You're allowing yourself flexibility when other people have bad matchups. It's called position scarcity and it's the reason WRs and RBs are so much more valuable than Ks and (usually) QBs.

I honestly didn't even know that Greg Zuerlin was the top K in fantasy this year until this thread, that's how little thought I put into my K. You should take this trade and mercilessly make fun of the guy who offered it to you.
