Is there any returning to” normal “ in the next year or so with this crazy vehicle market? This insanity has to catch up eventually. I’m trying to hold out in hopes of the market softening. Any thoughts?

Probably late next year or early 2023. It's insane the price of new and used trucks right now. Pretty much break even on the trade in vs paying msrp for a new one.

no, will take a few years to get back to normal IMHO.

Even if manufacturers move chip manufacturing facilities back to the US, they will still be 2-4 years from being able to produce in the numbers that are needed.

Look up all the chipless F150s sitting at vacant tracks and lots across the country. I know it's a long wait, but you're going to see a collapse in the truck market especially in a couple years. Ford has two options, sell the 2020-2022s in late 2023 at a huge discount or destroy tens of thousands of trucks. I'm assuming they'll be giving them away when it comes to financing and price below MSRP once the models sitting around get chips in a year or so.

I’m hoping for something like that to happen.

I think it's inevitable, the supply with them giving the newest models the priority of getting the chips means you're going to have an influx of tens of thousands of trucks that weren't even started until they got a chip three years later

What are the chances I could still order a new 2020 at the end of this year?

Combine all this with the fact that the Fed is going to end up raising interest rates to try to curb inflation, and I couldn't agree more...

Really debating selling my personal truck out right to a dealership. New company policy came out that we can use work trucks for all personal use. No need for 2 trucks, with my personal just sitting there.

I'd do this in a hot minute.

I bought a 2021 Tundra limited just 2 months ago, and KBB says it's trade in value is $3K more than I paid for it. How is that even possible?

Watch this channel here, and he just did a walk around on a dealership in New Jersey, and they are marking Tundras up $15-20K. Who would pay that.

The half ton market is going to tight out through the end of next year. I traded a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT back in July for a 2021 Silverado 2500 Gas burner. They gave me 49500 on my trade (paid 45K in Dec 19). Sticker on my truck was 53K. I had a costco 1000 rebate and GM supplier discount. Ended up and 49300K for the cost of the truck. No sales tax since my trade was valued so high. I thought it was a pretty good deal in today's climate.

Maybe, but not likely.

These guys have been on top of the car market lately.

This is how you make money in a hot market; selling and not replacing. You'd be nuts not to sell right now, and if you decide you want another driver you can buy in a few years when prices have gotten somewhat normal.

I sold mine and did the same. Kind of regret it with the added stress of my car being tied to my job.

If your job sucks or you lose it with the economy, you're in a pinch to buy a vehicle and the prices keep climbing.

This is what I’m patiently waiting for.

This. I have a 2017 F150 4X4 XLT that is paid for. I also work for a company that could pretty much put me in a new Ford F150 Lariat just like it, but I hate being tied to the man. I get truck pay and free fuel and I often think how good it would be to just pocket a bunch of cash but I made a decision a long time ago that I would never drive a company vehicle unless I was forced too.
