Tent or camping is one thing; sleeping in my house is another.

Ok, I just used the app on my phone to program the thermostat to the requested federal settings. Let's see what happens.

I sold that house last year so it should impact me much, and I still get to save the environment!

The official federal government recommendation for keeping your house cool in the summer is to keep your air conditioning set at 78 degrees.

Naw, fam.

When you're at work or away, the program recommends setting it at 85 degrees.

I could accept that if its programmable to get it down to 70ish before I get home.

Deal with it

ETA

After a day of drinking in the sun there was zero chance I was waking up to a 75 degree house.

Just turned the AC on for the first time this year.

Yes, I put it at 78 degrees as per the regulations.

I do have a few fans on too.

Not sure what you guys are complaining about.

People are so used of staying in offices that are freezing so when they get home they want it cold in their house, but ACs (if installed correctly with the correct amount of tons) is designed to keep your house no more than 20 degree cooler than what it is outside.

If it is 90 degrees and you want it lower than 70 its going to have to work a lot harder. If its 98 degrees and you want it 75, its going to have to work really hard.

But people are spoiled and they want what they want and then when the AC goes out they will complain even more because they had to go two days without AC and had to go stay somewhere.

I like it really cool when I sleep. But really cool to me is 73 degrees with the fan wide open (I sleep with the fan on year around).
