“ Was told USC wanted Lincoln Riley all along (big surprise) but didn't know if it could land him, especially if OU won Bedlam game. Once OU lost last night, opened a window and USC went all in, selling its access to top-tier talent, increased program support, lifestyle in CA.”

Kind of crazy if that deal was really put together in 12 hours

Then it might mean Woodward never even looked at Riley seriously?

Because his agent had probably been talking to them for weeks

Don’t know who and why is trying to sell that, but I ain’t buying that. You don’t put together $100m+ deals overnight

Probably been done for weeks

I agree. These things don’t happen in 12 hours. The lawyers didn’t have a chance to look it over. No chance it happened that fast.

It wasn't. It's a massive decision and there's absolutely no way that started and ended right after the game. Probably been in the works for months and some people were even speculating Riley was recruiting California heavily in a very suspicious way.

Based on some of the things he said last year, I'm guessing this was a bigger contributing factor than is being discussed.

I don't think being scared of the SEC is why he chose USC.

I'll call bullshite on that one, they will be more like Ole Miss with a ceiling of LSU if they get a good coach. The SEC is not as brutal as it once was

Lincoln will probably be living in the GOP oasis in Southern California, Orange County.

Louisiana government is about as stupid as California. Taxes also are absolutely horrible in comparison to the benefits.

Luckily $12m a year pays for a good feces plow.
