It's the Sunday after the regular season, the majority of teams have had their season end with a few still potentially waiting on CFP births and conference championship games. If LSU were hiring a coach not involved with either of those events, we'd know who the hire was by now, so that leaves a few possibilities:

Dave Clawson (Wake Forest - HC)
Brian Kelly (Notre Dame - HC)
Bill O'Brien (Alabama - OC)
Mario Cristobal (Oregon - HC)
Doug Belk (Houston - DC)
Unknown NFL Coach

Less likely candidates due to recent extensions:

Dave Aranda (Baylor - HC)
Luke Fickell (Cincinnati - HC)
Jeff Traylor (UTSA - HC)

Of these names, who would LSU fans want. A guy like Dave Clawson has shown an acumen for offensive football and has made Wake Forest a respectable program. Mario Cristobal is one of the top recruiters in the country. Brian Kelly has had sustained high level success.

Brian Kelly and Aranda are the best options on that list. If its an NFL guy it would be Urban. Rhule would never leave the NFL

Why do you think Napier is such a shitty coaching prospect?

You know the positives and negatives that come with Urban Meyer.

With that in mind, and if your list is accurate, Urban has to get the offer.

This thread has nothing to do with Napier other than him no longer being available to LSU.

These are the coaches not immediately available that, logically, it would make sense that LSU is targeting

Goddamn what a depressing list of options…. Is it wrong that I prefer the second tier in comparison to those guys?

Wish we would have hired him, then at least we would have a coach.

Urban Meyer?

If that's the case we might see him in Tigerland hitting on blonde freshman.

LSU fans think they are beneath Napier. We may be beneath him in SEC rankings, too. He is going to win games at Florida.

Do you mean above him and below in future sec rankings?

Why are people downvoting the OP?

Either:

1- Woodward is an idiot
Or
2- His pick is on the OPs list or in the NFL.
