What happened to waiting for DeBoer? You know, after he retires in 2042.
In the pre-2015 world, Auburn. Since then, Ole Miss is the better job and it's not close. As a matter of fact, there are several jobs that have surpassed Auburn in the past decade. It has gone from top 5 in the SEC to bottom 5, and not even better than a lot of ACC or Big XII jobs.

They aren't going to be Ohio St but they can be the 2nd or 3rd best team under the right coach

Which is by definition, not crushing it. I don’t believe that Saban saw a path to dominance there, or he wouldn’t have left. A few coaches have had “good success” there, all the way back to Duffy Daughtery, but 2nd or 3rd best is not much of a goal.

Would be a home run hire for them. Coach Fitz got done dirty by his Alma Mater, I think he would crush it there

He would be a great hire, and would do well. But, even Saban couldn't crush it there, and the cards are stacked against them. I'd like to see someone prove me wrong though, a strong Spartan program would be a great thing to see.
Only two possibilities. Oxford or Nashville.
So you're saying Kiffin is going to be Saban's OC again, but at LSU this time?
Because the options that are most often cited are living in Gainesville, FL or Baton Rouge, LA. Those make Oxford look like Shangri-La.

Agree. LSU gives that feeling that they go "all in" for 1 candidate and when they don't get that candidate, it's an OH shite moment and they panic hire and then say "We got our man!"

As in "all in for Lincoln Riley" and then pivot to "it was Brian Kelly all along"?

I think that is a pretty accurate take on the LSU situation.

Who's hired first?

Which of the P4 programs is the first to fill their vacancy, and which one of the fired coaches gets hired first?

My guess is PSU makes the first move and snags a coach from a non-playoff SEC school and their former head man James Franklin gets hired soon after.
Already signed. $100 million PER YEAR, lifetime contract. But keep it on the down low for another couple of weeks....

All those coaches besides saban didn’t do shite on their 2nd stint

Does that include the coach with the most wins in the history of South Carolina football?

Lane as OC and Kirby as DC. Time to get the band back together! $50M for Saban, $40M each for Lane and Kirby. PER YEAR! $10M bonus for every win over 6. It’s gonna be glorious!!!

It will be Tommy Tuberville. He just has to officially withdraw from the Alabama governor's race and endorse someone else. Be patient, grasshoppers.

Why is the OP comparing two black coaches that have nothing in common outside of the fact that they are black?

Irony at its best. You listed TWO things they have in common in your rebuttal. You are excused.
This would be good for him. Get them bowl eligible by year two, 8-9 wins by year four and he’s set up for the next level.
